When a customers wants advise on buying a new washing machine, we will often ask the following questions first in order to understand what is important to them;

 

 

How many people live in the property? 
A large household will likely require a larger drum size.  1 or 2 people can often get away with a 7kg or 8kg drum, whereas a family of 4 will likely need a 9kg or 10kg load.

Do you have a seperate tumble dryer? 
If not, then it is especially important to pick a machine will a high spin speed, so the clothes will come out dryer.  

What is your budget? 
There is no secret; generally, the more you pay, the better the appliance.  The largest part of the cost of a new machine is the cost to manufacture the product and so this is reflected in the price.  Transport and marketing/advertising activities also impact the cost of your new machine.

Best Washing Machines for over £1000

We have two picks for the next budget category; a Bosch and a Siemens model.

Firstly, the Siemens WG44G209GB extraKlasse washing machine.  This 9kg 1400 spin washer offers an impressive load size and solid spin speed.  Siemens are known for their excellent manufacturing and reliable machinery.  Some other great features include;

Best washing machines for under £500

 

The AEG LFR61842B is a great machine at a great price from German brand AEG.  This 8kg, 1400 spin washer is a favourite for our customers who are looking for something at under £400 (currently on sale at £399).

It has some other great features including;

• ProSense technology – automatically weights each load for a tailored cycle adjusting the time, water and energy use by up to 30%.

• TimeSave plug – reduces the duration of a wash cycle by up to 2 times.

• Extra Quick Programme – 3kg washing load in just 20 minutes 

 

Lastly, we have the Beko WTK82041W which is a 8kg 1200 spin washing machine towards the cheaper end of the market.  This machine retails at around £300.  Whilst it won’t beat the other washers shown above in any category, it’s very good value – it has a reasonably large 8kg drum and features a 28 minute quick wash programme.
